More details:
This two-day pastel workshop "Focus on Trees" is for all skill levels from beginner to advanced.
About the instructor: Jude Tolar was likely born with a pencil in her hand. But she set aside drawings and doodling for a psychology degree from OSU. Art followed her though and led her to a long career in graphic design/illustration. Her first art job was as the Staff Artist for the Metropolitan Library System. She also spent two years in art classes at OU, and wrote and illustrated children's books. In her mid-50s Jude turned to pastel painting, working mainly from life. She studied extensively with master pastelist Clive Tyler and other notable artists.
Jude's pastels have won many awards, including five Best of Shows. She's juried into numerous national and international shows. Her work has twice been named to the top 100 pastels of the year by Paste Journal magazine. She's also won awards in PleinAir Magazine's Plein Air Salon. She has just been awarded Master Circle status with the International Association of Pastel Societies (IAPS)based on her acceptance into five of its juried international shows. Jude has been published in Pastel Journal, PleinAir Magazine, Plein Air Today, and Pratique des Arts Magazine (France). Two of her paintings are in the 2018 edition of The Encyclopedia of Pastel Techniques by Judy Martin. She's also written articles for Plein Air Today and Pastel Journal magazine. She has shown in many exhibitions and gives pastel demos and workshops. Her work is in collections across the US and abroad.
