Oklahoma Art Guild Social events include:
member participation contests, seasonal social parties and get-acquainted
events.
Meetings are held the third Monday of each month at 7:00 p.m. at City Arts
Center, 3000 Pershing Blvd., State Fair Grounds. Programs at these
meetings include: demonstrations, critiques and lectures by well known
local and national artists.

p.m. - OAG Monthly Meeting
Theresa Cannady, will give a watercolor demonstration at the July
meeting.
Theresa began her study of art at OCU, continued at Citrus College in
California, and with the aid of classes and workshops in both states,
has won awards in local, regional, and national shows. Theresa is active
in the Oklahoma Watercolor Association, Oklahoma Art Guild, and the
Plein Air Painters of Central Oklahoma. Cannady’s works of art,
primarily in transparent watercolor, can currently be viewed at the
Contemporary Art Gallery in Northpark Mall, Oklahoma City and Aunt
Gertrude's House, Guthrie. Theresa has conducted demonstrations and
workshops in the Oklahoma City metro area, sharing her personal view of
the world as I see it, or wish it were."

June 1 OAG Membership Renewal Time
It is time to renew OAG membership dues. Dues are $36 per year, June 1,
2008 – May 31, 2009. New member artists and art patrons are welcome to
pay at this time along with the current renewing member artists.

LOCATION: Gallery One on Paseo, 2927 Paseo, OKC.
Gallery Hours: Wed-Sat 12:oop.m. – 6:00p.m.
Entry: Saturday, June 28, 2008 – 10:00a.m. – 6:00p.m.
Opening Reception: July 2. 6:00p.m. -8:00p.m.
It is time for the OAG Small Works Show once again. The show offers an
opportunity for OAG artists to show their work in a professional gallery
and gain exposure to art patrons. 2-dimentional small works are not to
exceed 144 sq. in. (12”x12”) excluding the frame, and up to 12” in any
direction for 3-dimensional work. Small Wonders are not to exceed 64 sq.
in. (8”x8”) for 2-dimensional excluding frame and 8” in any direction
for 3-dimentional works. Micro Wonders are not to exceed 12 sq. in.
(3”x4”) for 2-dimensional excluding frame and 4” in any direction for

July 4, 2008 - Art on the Bricktown Canal

OAG is sponsoring the show with complete support from Bricktown. Over
75,000 people are expected at the event and it will be a good time for

October 6 - 16, 2008: OAG Fall Members
Show
This year the OAG Fall Members’ Show will be held October 6 – 18, 2008
from 10:00-4:00 at 50 Penn Place (1900 NW Expressway). Mike Wimmer, a
nationally known artist who lives in Norman, Oklahoma will be show
judge. The Opening Reception will take place October 4 from 6:00 –
8:00p.m. A new feature to the show will be a program that will bring
school age children and OAG artists together. OAG members may contact
Gilbert Tampkins to schedule a time to volunteer for this at 751-7846.

- Figure Drawing
Figure drawing sessions with live models are provided free for members
each Tuesday unless otherwise noted in the newsletter. No guests allowed.
Sessions are from 7:00 to 9:30 p.m., City Arts Center.

Mug Wamps and Twisted Sisters will be the featured 3-dimensional
work of Diana Tunnell on June 6 during the Art Walk on the Paseo. The
hours will be from 6:00p.m. – 9:00p.m. Come out and see Diana’s exciting
new works.
Sherry Hicks Featured on OETA
OETA Television will feature Sherry Hicks and her art in June on the
2nd and 4th Tuesday at 9:00p.m. and the 3rd Sunday at 11:00a.m. Sherry
is known for depicting portraits of animals.
