"The Architect As Painter"

I am primarily an Architect who started to paint when I was 60. My first teacher said, " If you can draw, you can paint". I certainly can draw, starting on my father's shirt carboards with my sister kneeling on the living room rug. I like oils very much. After the precision drawing required in my profession, oil painting is a great sloppy release! I knew at once, after I had started, that I liked the impressionists and try to follow their way of thinking/painting. Plein Air painting is the best. I am still painting scenes I visited over the past 12 years, and while doing so, can smell the air, feel the breezes, and see "that" light in a complete recall. My sister is a professional painter now and is on the Web. Check it out. http://torpedofactory.org. punch Printmakers, scroll to studio 225 to Laura Weaver Huff.
