Fredrick Porter
Born
in Missouri, Fredrick entered his first art competition at age 14 and
winning 1st place in a state wide student art show. Fredrick completed
his art degree and went on to study with some on today’s renowned
artists. To name a few Fredrick has studied with; Tom Lynch, Thomas
Kindade, Nan Rae, Terry Madden and others. Along the way Fredrick has
acquired an Art degree and an MBA with a focus in Marketing.
Fredrick’s
years of education, experience, an active participant in juried art
shows, art fairs and continued study with noted artists has enabled him
to become a very knowledgeable and effective artist and teacher. It is
this background along with his calm, considerate manner that gives him
the ability to make visual art seem so east for everyone, including
beginners and even the “I could never…” do the art they wish they could
do. In the advanced level Fredrick puts more emphasis on personal style
and growth. It is his personal and sincere willingness to help that puts
students at ease so the student may do their best work.
I am an active artist in today’s art world. The past several years I
could be found showing my art in art fairs, juried art shows, teaching,
demonstrating art and producing limited edition collectables. My art may
be found in many states throughout the US, corporate and privet
collections. My love and zest for life may find me at the Alamo or the
San Antonio River Walk, TX, Mount St Helen, WA, the Organ coast, the
Louisianan bayou, Scottsdale AZ, St Augustine, FL, Garden of the God’s
CO, Zion National Park, UT, the CA Delta, Monterey Bay, CA, Yosemite
National Park, CA or just about anywhere the beauty of nature may be
found.
I am a former aerospace engineering manager recently retired to travel
and create art, attend art shows and teaching others the joy of creating
art and expressing their feelings as I travel.
In addition to being a successful painter, Fredrick is a natural teacher
who is especially intuitive in developing his students’ individual
needs. Fredrick’ speaks openly and candidly, shearing everything he
knows about art with his students. He helps students to tap into the
creative process, providing the creative instinct, gently pushing the
student to explore and fulfill his or her own artistic ability.
