Mary Jane earned her BA degree at West Texas State University, Canyon, Texas. She continued her education studying with Ray Vinella in Taos, New Mexico; Sheri McGraw and Joyce Pike at the Scottsdale Art School in Scottsdale, Arizona.

She is a member of the Oklahoma Guild where she is a signature member.

She has participated in many art shows where her work has won many awards. Her works can be viewed at Pat's Framing & Uptown Gallery in Bartlesville, Oklahoma and at Aunt Gertrude House in Guthrie, Oklahoma.

Mary Jane's primary interest is in painting still life and florals with emphasis on color.
